Weisman Art Museum

Well, what can I say? It looks EXACTLY like an Art museum! ;) I'm sure someone put a LOT of thought and energy into planning this very strange shape. It is unique, I'll give it that!

:D An art museum created by an artist of an architect. This is one of Frank Gehry's designs, one of our most innovative and my favorite architects. We have one of his buildings in Seattle (the EMP), and this is the only other one of his I've seen. Someday I would love to visit his Guggenheim in Balboa Spain. Hola, Orlando. Credit goes to the architect though, I just snapped a photo ;) Rather amazing architecture - he is somewhat controversial if you are not familiar with him. I happen to support most art and architecture, especially if it is unique and progressive - not necesarily just the stuff that is pretty to look at.

Oh, a Frank Gehri building, Alicia! Great photo of the Minnesota Weisman museum. There are quite a few works of Frank Gehri in Europe as well! They are amazing!

I don't have shots of the EMP here in Seattle, also by Gehry, but I'm sure if you go to GE, you will see many shots of another example (more recent) of his fearless designs. Hello Alicia. When presented with the image of such amazing creativity, I ponder at the complexity of constructing such unusual buildings.

I guess the engineers who erected the thing must have had a big headache when they saw the plans !!! There does not appear to be a square or vertical face in sight.

You're probably not alone with that ponder, Jim :~> At least this one has some straight edges - I believe there are very few if any, in the EMP. I also wonder if they adhere to budget - I can't imagine not running into unforeseen delays with Gehry's designs.

Yes, Basili, the Guggenheim in Bilbao is by Frank Gehry as well. Thank you for your visit and for sending me to Sonia Villegas' photo - what a great shot!
