Greetings David :) Superb panoramic from the rise near the harbour(is it several images?)..I often wondered what this ruin is, just never bothered to find out..A most enjoyable image! Hugely liked!

Clever work David. I feel like a complete novice when I see photos like this. How do you do it?

Greetings, Amelia

My sincerest apologies for my tardiness in responding. I beg your forgiveness.

Jim Its the remains of the old air vent shaft for the mine that is located hereabouts. You are right, its on the hill just south of the harbour.

Not my work Amelia I leave it all to software. It is five separate images and I use the free software Hugin but I am sure Microsoft's free I.C.E. will work just as well (it usually does). I use Hugin because I get more control.

Thank you Both for your lovely kind words - I am grateful for your encouragement - David in the USA!

In the words of the late Frank Carson: "That's a cracker!" I am going to have to try one of these panorama thingies, sooner of later.

So Keith - panoramas with film are perfectly feasible if a little harder than digital. I have several that I have created manually by

A) sellotaping the prints together B) scanning and joining myself in basic editing software C) by scanning and letting Hugin or MICE do it for me

a) above is useless but they still adorn my walls!!!! (Along with the pot ducks and horse brasses). b) are possibly the best because I worked for days at it but c) is the easiest.

I am here to help mate and you have my Email address.

Good luck and sorry for the delay in this - David

Don't tell anybody, but I have re-entered the digital world. sssshhhhh!

(It is purely a practical decision as I don't know how much longer I will be able to get my developing done - I will be persevering with film though).

!!!!!

What are you going to do with all your film cameras? ;-)

David Brown Photogra… on February 8, 2014

Its a secret between you and me Keith - oh and Amelia now I guess :-)

He's going to take pictures of them all Amelia but with a digital camera.

The Coolpix will keep you out of mischief Keith but there are some great deals on D3100s right now....... :-)

Hi my Old Friend

this is a great picture, and I need some help

I have just had a new PC installed and for the life of me I cant remember the software programme we use to stitch a couple of shots together like this, the last ones I did were in January when I was in France, and now I have a few more that I want to stitch together, so I am hoping as always s that you can tell me what the programme is and where I can download it from

Cheers my old pal and thanks for all your help Kind Regards Gordon

Gordon670 on May 6, 2014
