The Mocking Bird ~ Mimus Polyglottos, meaning " many-tongued mimic." Americans enjoy the song of the mockingbird from coast to coast, especially where the climate is balmy. One can hear them singing on the ground, in the garden shrubbery, from house eaves, television antennas, and lofty tree perches. Researchers demonstrated that it imitates other birds so expertly that only electronic analysis can detect the difference. A famed Mocker from Boston was credited with the ability to reproduce 39 bird songs, 50 bird calls, and the sound of a frog and a cricket! This beautiful boy poured forth his song from my T.V. Antenna in all of his Springtime excitement! :)

I hadn't heard - is MINI up and running again?

What a wonderful portrait of a mocking bird, Mary Alice! The background information is very interesting, too. It's a very special bird and you caught it so beautifully singing his tune. He deserves a YS! Greetings, Anne

Greetings all, and thank you so much for your many compliments on this classy Mocking bird! :) I imagine he is quite honored to be so admired here on Panoramio!

Theano, I am singing your song now! :) What a wonderful verse, and what a wonderful God! :)

Bob, Yes indeed, he was singing very loudly for all to hear! I'm so glad that you noticed, and thank you very kindly for your praise! :)

Elmer, Thank you for visiting! The Mocking bird was very exciting to me, as I have a special interest in birds, and I thought this one was delightful! Thank you for your kindness! :)

Happy Paul, First and foremost, YES, the baby Mini is up on it's feet again! It's all fine, and thank you so much for asking! It turned out to just be those little seals! No more leak, and it was only a matter of $5.50 for two tiny black "O" rings! Go figure! Now, thank you for your compliments on my Mocking Bird! He is quite the happy boy around here, and yes, they all look very much alike! I'm glad to know that you enjoy them up there as well! Perhaps I will be seeing a shot of your office singer soon? :)

Urbi, Thank you very kindly for stopping by, and I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this bird! Thank you sincerely for your praise! :)

Anne, I sure do appreciate your compliments and of course, the Yellow Star! I am quite honored and so happy that you enjoyed the shot! I love Mocking birds and have since childhood. My mother raised me to love birds and always taught me every little thing about them! Chick a dee dee dee's are another one of my favorites, and I hope to get a good close up on one soon as well! Thank you again for your praise, Anne!

** Yellow Breasted Robin,** I don't know if anyone can compete with the voices of Happy Paul or Jim! That is putting a LOT of pressure on this sweet bird! We'll have to see! :)

DerSiggy, Thank you so much for your praise! :) I'm glad to see that you stopped by my humble gallery again this evening! It's always a treat to see you! :)

Ed, I'm so glad to have stirred up an old song memory for you with this shot! I do not know the song, but Now I'm going to have to do some research! Thank you so kindly for your visit and praise! :)

Jacques, I am so honored for your yellow star! You flatter me! :) I'm so happy that you enjoyed the Mocking bird! :)

Alicia, Your happy song made me giggle! I can hear my mother singing that to me now! :) How sweet! I can't believe you've never seen a mocking bird! How could that be? You're going to have to come and visit me here in Georgia! Maybe after we do our road trip up there, we can come down here as well. Game? I'm so happy that you stopped by, Alicia! I hope you are doing well.

Greetings all, and thank you so much for visiting this proud Mocking bird!

Hey, MaryAlice, take a look at THIS bird picture and let me know what you think. My brother-in-law (andilaugh's dad) shot it at the home of another of his daughters in northwest England.

How's things? Keeping busy? Haven't been on much myself, but you haven't been your usual charming, witty, delightful, eloquent self either!

Joshua, How delightful for you to stop by! I'm so happy that you're impressed with my titles! I just want the viewer to know what he's looking at! :) Thank you for your constant praise! You make me proud and happy! :) I hope your Saturday is off to a wonderful start. Thanks again for your nice visit.

Happy Paul, I beg your pardon, Sir! Of course I am my usual charming, witty, delightful, eloquent self. What on earth do you mean? :( Perhaps you have missed some of my messages to you. When I have to leave them in group thank-yous, sometimes someone else will cover them up before the others get to read them. I don't know what to do about that either. Anyway, it is always a pleasure hearing from YOU, and I did go over and visit your brother-in-law's fun site, and I left him many comments. His gallery was delightful! I hope your weekend is off to a nice start! Happy Mother's Day to your wife! :)

Greetings, my friends!

I graciously accept your clarification, My dearest Happy Paul. :) I have been rather busy, but I had a moment to sit and catch up this morning! I have missed talking with you and the joy that your conversations always bring. I hope this morning finds you well and happy yourself!

Even if you don't hear much from me on a certain day, I'm never very far away.

All the best to my Happy Paul,

You are not ignorant one little bit though! There are millions of animals that I've never seen or heard of as well, so please don't feel bad.

I'm just happy that you were able to learn of the Mocking Bird through My site! :) I am honored!

Thank you so very much for your visit today, Kasia! I hope this evening finds you well and happy.

Luis,

You have done a lot of smart calculations! Wow! We have very drastic time differences, don't we? I wasn't aware that it was so extreme. So, it is still afternoon for you there now? Here it is 9:30pm. :)

Well, I hope you're enjoying your Wednesday. Mine is soon coming to a close. I am about to go have a big bowl of ICE CREAM with crushed chocolate cookies on top! :)

Very best regards to you, my friend,

Mary Alice

Luis Duro González, on June 26, said:

No Mary Alice, When in USA is 9:30pm, here is 6:30am more or less. Are seven hours of differences. When 11S in NY, here was 16:30, when started (7:30). For this reason I know the differences of time.

Wednesday was a regular day, but today I am happy. Tomorrow I go to the vacations to Casavieja in Avila, until September, and there, I don't have internet.

This is the last conversation that we have until September.

I hope that you are happy, and you pass a very good summer.

The best wishes to you, Luis Duro.

MaryAlice, on June 27, said:

You will be missed, Luis!

I will look forward to talking with you again in September.

Casavieja looks Amazing! I hope you have an outstanding time while you're there.
