I found out that it was an Irish army barracks used during "the emergency" (world ware 2). Irish soldiers were sent up here to cut turf.

Father Ted's house in the burren. Taken Summer 2007, looks pretty much the same as in the TV series. Family living there.

I have learned in marine biology: What to do in shark attack??? :)don
t swim in the sea- 99.9% of all shark attacks take place in the sea. In the event that you are foolish enough to swim in the sea listen carefully for the music. All shark attacks are preceded bydaah-da, daah-dawhich gradually becomes more rapid as the shark gets closer :) Swim with slow and fat people. This way you dont have to swim faster than the shark, you only have to swim faster than your friends :) PLAY DEAD : this probably wont work as shark eat dead stuff as well but you have nothing to lose. Try to get in a few well-aimed punches before you die. The sharks are protected species! and last: DONT panic: this won`t help you to survive but people on the beach will appreciate you not shrieking as this is quite unsettling :)))Good shot :)
Cheers Zsuzsa

CorkCoast.com for more photos of this ship, limerick dock, other ships and marine life mostly along the cork coast. the Curraghgour ll Hopper Dredger is no longer in service, it's appox 50 years old(?) and lying on the river shannon at limerick dock. It dredged by lifting out the sediment in a large bucket and storing it on board. then out to sea with it where the bottom was opened and the silt was deposited.
