I love our order "Independent Order of Odd Fellows & Rebekah's" and I love our history. As I travel about California I always have my camera and make it a point to locate the old Odd Fellows Temple. Comment my pictures, I love to know who is looking at them. Keep watching for my photos, I add them regularly. I hope to someday have every Odd Fellows Temple still standing in California blue dot'd in Google Earth.

California Odd Fellows Lodge #1 and the 22 other Lodges that were in San Francisco at the time combined their resources and started a building Association to build this grand hall in 1884 that had no less than 49 organizations of the Odd Fellows order meeting in the building. In 1906 that all changed when this magnificent building was dynamited to stop the fire that raged through San Francisco after the quake. The Odd Fellows today still meet in the new building on the same location, though the hall is much smaller it is still a great building with several meeting rooms.

This Odd Fellows Hall in Fiddletown is gone. The location of the old hall is now an empty lot with only a foundation. A lady at the museum sold us a book and we found this photo. It would have been nice to have been in this hall. The book said they held many dances in this building.

This nice building needs your love. Foresthill is still an active Lodge, but their treasury is struggling to make the necessary repairs to this hall. Please donate to this Lodge so they can repair their hall.

This Lodge was instituted in the Swedish language. They do not meet in the Swedish language any longer, but due to the homeless situation at the Hall on 7th & Market, This Lodge and Odin Lodge moved and now meet in this Swedish meeting Hall.

Unity Odd Fellows Lodge was instituted in this bldg. but there is no proof that they met here.

On this lot, from 1850's to 1906, there was an Odd Fellows Lodge to shame all others. The building was used as the Grand Lodge of California, and the location of many Odd Fellows sessions. In 1906, the building survived the great quake, but was dynamited by the city workers to stop the fire that followed. This hall was built about 1909 on half the property and over the years, all Odd Fellows Lodges in San Fransicso have net in this hall.

The Original Odd Fellows Temple was loated at 11th St. & 12th Ave. but is now a parking lot... (Shame) the Lodges that met in that magnificent hall moved to the Key Systems Bldg., which as you can see is yet another magificent bldg. boarded up for what ever history will lose.

The Original Lodi Odd Fellows Hall was sold in 1946. They are now meeting at their new hall at 6 S. Pleasant Ave.

The loss of this hall was a sad day. In 1984, the crime and parking issues took the toll of this Lodge and they sold the building for safety. Thanks to the new owners for preserving our history inside the walls. This is a lovely place for a meeting or wedding. The main rooms are still beautiful.

Thanks to Diana for getting me this photo
