Do you have a photo of the old hall? One problem I have when looking for Lodge halls is that the only address i have is the IOOF hall in such and such city. In Byron, I took my mom as she had attended a Rebekah meeting at the hall. She was not sure, but thought that was the hall.

Sad news-the husband of the couple who planned to open a restaurant there expired enexpectedly days before the grand opening. The Inn is back on the market.

Yes, You are correct, but if you look at the plaque in the top story, you will find that the Odd Fellows also part owned this building with the Masons until they consolidated their Lodge with Ione and surrendered their share of the property to the Masons.

Thanks Don,
May I use this on my California Lodges Web Page?

Yes, It is quite possible that they shared it with an Elks Lodge. This was not the Original Odd Fellows Hall in Pittsburg, but when I was in town the Historic Society was not open so I could get more information on the Original Hall. I also beleive that this was shared by the Eagles Lodge as well.

Colusa Odd Fellows were instituted 5/2/1867. The Lodge built and dedicated this hall on 4/26/1893. Sadly, the Colusa Odd Fellows surrendered their charter 3-4 years ago and this building is now managed by the Grand Lodge of California.

This Lodge was instituted in Campo Seco, but moved 3 times before settling and building this nice hall in Jenny Lind.

This hall is jointly owned by the Odd Fellows and the Masons. The Masons still meet here. A very cool and interesting fact about this hall is that there is a clause in the title that if either Lodge ever gives up their charter, they must pass over the title to the other Lodge. The Odd Fellow members of this Lodge have all moved to our Home in Saratoga, However, 1 day a year, they board a bus and travel to this lodge and hold a meeting, so the Lodge still has claim to their half of this building. Another cool fact on this hall is the upstairs meeting room has no electricity, so the meetings are held by Kerosene lamp, the chandalier and funriture is all original. I would encourage you to attend our meeting here, it is usually open to the public. It will be on September 19th this year. We would love to have you there.

Hi Fred,
This photo was taken after the 1989 quake, However, a bit of historical fact, the IOOF members had another building in town that was so badly damaged after the quake, that they had to sell it and moved to this new hall. I have not been inside this hall, but some of my friends are members and said the original hall was MUCH nicer. I will have to get back into Watsonville and see if the old hall has benn repaired and I would like to get a photo of that building for my log. The address of the original hall was 17 3rd st.
