Has anyone got/taken a pix of the old Pete's Hotdog in downtown. As I recall there was a mural above it? If you have a pix would love to see it.

The park was not named Capital Park because Birmingham did not become the capital. I don't think it became the capital because Montgomery was already established.

It was for history. I agree with both Katie and Danielle because the idea was to keep it intact. The intention was most likely for it to become a bustling market place, but unfortunately that has yet to happen.

A park can serve purpose for any function. You can meet people, study, smoke, or simply enjoy the fresh air.You can bring pets or just people watch at the park. Whatever you can think of…you can usually do at a park as long as it’s inside the means of respecting the other people who use it.

These are the new Athens Flatts apartments. They are beautifully made. One of my favorite things about them is the parking underneath. It makes it very easy to have plenty parking and it also adds character. These apartments prove that Birmingham is trying to create a sense of community, because they are trying to get people to live downtown and bring people and eyes to the streets. Do you think these new apartments will help create a sense of community in Birmingham?

Anywhere downtown depicts multi-culturalism. Our FLC depicts multi-culturalism. The city id full of different cultures, but not only the culture part of the word is multi-culture. Everyone, even of the same race has different backgrounds and religion, and that itself is multi-culture.

I think the intention was to keep some of the original aspect of the city. It was probably to create a sense of origin. The history behind it could make for a large area of growth if people would realize it’s potential and it could become a market like the picture we saw of Dublin.

The need to survive. Simply eating and drinking allows for socialization and a closer community. Lucy's is a good example of that, also. Perhaps providing cheaper places to eat would allow for more socialization of this type to occur.
