Great shot! I can still remember all the shops (and pubs) on the right hand side.. and I left there in the 50s
I played around here before the Fire Station was built. Back in the 50s my father was ther engine driver

You are right. I lived at 24 The Esplanade until I was 5, moving to Whitley Bay with parents.
