Yes, it is on the Normal Route. It's a great experience... not a technical mountain at all, but it's very easy to get high altitude disease on this one.
Of course, I recommend to start with other mountains first, to get used to the altitude, such as La Parva - Pintor or Leonera mouintains... then you'll be set!
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be in Chile this summer, but there are some guides that can join you (or if you're already experienced, find a mate on your own) :D
