This view is taken from Samboan Cebu looking south south west to Tanjay on Negros Oriental in the Philippines showing the intense weather conditions over the Tanon Strait in July 2009.
This building was previously the Royal Hong Kong Police Detective Training School (DTS) which closed in around 1980. DTS was moved to opposite Kai Tak Airport. The building was left for a while and then re-opened in 1989 as the "Warehouse", a youth club for teenagers focusing on a healthy lifestyle. It has just been renovated (early 2009) and no doubt should be around for a long time. A great example of the colonial architecture in Hong Kong.
This was taken around 6.20pm in April 2007 looking out from Samboan to Bais on Negros. The swallows in the photo are a nesting pair and regularly dive-bomb people passing too close to their nesting area.
