At about 1050 m above the sea level, this church is the highest located in Slovakia. The church was designed by Ing. Henrik Dvoržák and buit in 1911/12 under his management. It was devoted to St. Clemens, patron of miners and fishers, as was the former wooden church. The construction was financed mainly by miners´offertory. [The Magurka mines exploited on an antimone-gold ore with a lode system extenting over 4.5 Km. Ing. Henrik Dvoržák (1873-1939) was the director of Magurka mine 1907-1917. The mining that started probably in 9th century ceased in 1920ies.]
