This photo is actually looking northwest. It is taken from the little rocky rise to the south of the gunflint lodge and looks northwest across gunflint lake to Magnetic Bay and Canada.
So many wonderful trails in MN & so little time! I'm always looking for pix to share as I'm out & about. The Heartland Bike Trail is a nice rails to trails conversion & this bridge goes over a channel at Leech Lake.
This was fun, watching the sun rise over Lake Superior & the moon set behind us. Stood out on the lake shore for about 90 minutes waiting for it all to happen.
Thanks for the comment. The boardwalk itself isn't that long, a couple hundred yards at most. However within this state park is also the Continental Divide Trail that takes you to a great overlook.
