Are you from Valley Springs? My wife and I are thinking of relocating to California and for some reason this area seems like an affordable place with decent jobs and great climate. Can you give me any insight?
Mr Peek,
Yes, the photo was taken on the "ground level deck of the Kennedy headframe". I have lived here in Amador county for 25 years and have visited just about every mine, cave, impound dam, arrastas, and ghost town this area has to offer. Now that digital tech. has arrived it is time to try to document all these wonders while they still exist. I,ve posted mostly easy, common photos but the exciting stuff is still to come. Whats your angle? Donn
thanks for added info, you seem well informed of local history and landmarks, though make sure your comments reflect the "point of origin" concept. If a person goes to the spot I mark for a photo, that is what they see. thus pictures can seem misplaced when in reality they are not.

Once again, this is actually referred to as The Mine House. It sits on the Kennedy Mine property.
Just to the right of the headframe in the background is Butte Mountain or the "Jackson Butte."
