This is an excellent point of view! I love this type of pictures: Anyway "typical", otherway completely different picture of a city. Thank you for sharing!
Arron Burr Shot & Killed Alexander Hamilton in a Dual, on this site. Arron Burr was Vice-President at the time & was Convicted of Murder, but apparently not sentenced. "Dueling," at the time, was a Gentleman's way of defending "His Honor." Eventually "Dueling" became Outlawed, this may have begun the resistance to this Method of Resolving Differences.
This for me is just the most amazing photograph. I am 51 and living in the UK. But from the age of 2 to 12 I lived within a few hundred yards of Abmas. The memories that come flooding back from this are impossible to put into words. Thank you telecaster1..thank you so much. Oh how I wish I could turn back the clock!!
While doing some carpentry work in a friend/ customers brownstone in Clinton Hill, we would pass the condo conversion work on the bank building. Finally, they removed the netting that shrouded the clock tower and I took this picture while driving along Fulton St. I wanted to go back at night and photograph the newly illuminated red clock but I haven't been able to get back there yet. One day. And yes, I was a passenger when I took the photo.
Thanks. Since it was cloudy that night, the sky in the color pictures I took was a strange orange-red and I didn't care for it, but the B&W ones, like this, came out alright.
You're right. The Mistake By The Lake does get a bad rap. I'll be going to Cleveland for the first time in Feb.
I'm sure I'll enjoy my short visit.
P.s. Great Photos.
