Karen James thanks for the comments we are lucky with the opportunity to catch lightning photos here in NSW Australia. This particular storm did not move that fast so was realative easily to capture
Peter I really like the colours and layers in this image. I was over this way in the early 80's salmon fishing and stayed at a place called Poets Nook. Now I am into photgraphy I would really love to return
jhk and njellis thanks for the comments. It was an odd night weather wise there was a misty rain and the light show on the bridge was changing colours. So trying to get an exposure without the change in colour during the exposure was a bit trying
Thanks. I was only there for a few hours, but it is undoubtedly a very striking place & full of character.
This building was one of the few that did not get damaged in the 1931 earthquake which destroyed most of Napier. In the mid eighties though it was classed as an earthquake risk and had to be strengthened to comply with the latest building codes
Chris, you have a wonderful gallery. All shots are of exceptional quality!
Steve thanks for looking and the comments
Just had a look at some of your images I am more than impressed you have some great work. I was over for a whistle stop tour on June and still not sure if I should have been earlier or later. Autum colour had gone and not enough snow. All the more reason to return next year
Ian I love the colours in this one this place has so many moods It was early June when I was there so not a lot of colour. I am amazed at the hoar frost images taken around this lake in winter though.
This looks rather cold I was over ther a few weeks ago and did not realise I was at Butchers Dam. I beleive this is one of the coldest places in NZ that is not on the top of a mountain. BTW you need the correct spelling for Hoar not the hooker type spelling you have LOL
