Managüense's conversations

Rafa Castro said:

Me costo mucho encontrarlo.

Hi Managüense, it's nice to hear from you again. I enjoyed the time travelling in South and Central America and was very sad when I saw Managua. I have published another e-book:

which might interest you also? Have a good time!

Curiosisimo! Gracias Luis!

I love these old houses in the middle of the country because they have so much character and tell much about Nicaragua's agricultural past. This type of house with corridors and tile roofs is what we call a "finca" or farmhouse, not only in Nicaragua but all over Central America and other American countries, except for Mexico where they mistakingly called them "ranchos". However, in Spanish, a "rancho" is a house large or small made of reed or adobe walls and roofed with palm leaves. Now, a larger, more sumptuous version of this finca would be called a "hacienda" or estate. Anyway, this is what a dream country house should be like in the heart of Nicaraguans, pretty much like the red, wooden house with white trimming should be for Swedes. I am pretty sure that if the owner sweeps the yard, plants some flowers by the walls, replaces the damaged tiles and bannisters, and whitewashes the walls it would be back to her old finca glory in no time. Thanks for sharing!
