This township is named Du Noon. It was established after the 1994 elections and was one of the first approved by the new government of the day. Initially built to house 600 shack dwellers from Marconi Beam in Montague Gardens. Today it holds about 3300 formal house (RDP type) and 4200 new shacks built amongst the houses. It is a crime hot spot with daily murders happening.
