P.S. I hope to holiday in Camden Haven again in July 2014 - I love the area and have enjoyed looking at your photos.
It took 3 trips to the location to finally get some shots. First time access was blocked due to access issues. Recovering from 3 broken bones below the left knee did not help. Second time a new track was not available around the localised land slide.
Finally got there on third trip - and it was the reason I went to Diamond Head in the first place.
I plan to go back and get a better shot of these rocks, very unusual rock formation.
Thank you, but a nice location really helps.
You are correct it is not Pilot Beach which is up near the breakwater. Need to find its correct name.
And it is Gogleys not Googleys Lagoon.
Looking into Googleys Lagoon, several km from Pilots Beach.
Googleys Lagoon, not Pilot Beach.
Lachie you are correct. It has collapsed, I was there in June 2013, it was due to heavy seas. The basalt columns near the cliff face have also gone. I was too far away to be 100% about the columns, not so with shag rock.
A great place now, a dreadful place when it was a penal colony. Take a look at the tombstones: http://www.panoramio.com/user/1093201/tags/Norfolk%20Island?photo_page=7
