According to the Ballina Shire Council the correct name is Iron Peg. The Geographical Names Board is silent. But locals know it as South Boulder Beach and the beach you refer to is known as North Boulder Beach. The name Iron Peg comes from the iron pole (iron peg) that was once in the rocks used by fisherman to attached themselves while fishing. The iron peg has rusted away and is no longer used. Although you can see rusted remains embedded in the rock (at least the last time I looked). I am going with North or South Boulder Beach for my photos.
