Someone colorized a similar photo of this store and it's patrons taken on the same day.http://boredomtherapy.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/colorized-old-photos-19.jpg
Thanks Corey!
You are my hero. I saw this signs years ago but w/o a picture taking device & have tried to find it again with no luck. I've explained it to people but it is not nearly as funny as seeing it. Thank you!
As we were returning from a seagrass collection trip past this spot a couple of weeks ago, what appeared to be a peregrine falcon kept swooping down at us, presumably to warn us off from what looked like a nest in the chimney (there was another bird on the chimney).
The additional hunt club info is very interesting as we were wondering about the ruins.
Best fried chicken by far. If you come by on Sunday, you better be early! They sell out fast!
Thanks Mike!
Thanks for sharing! I was thinking of catching the sunrise at the conjunction of the centerline of the pier, but I believe the tide gages (foreground and center) will interfere with the shot.
Looks can be deceiving ... as far as the weather is concerned! While it seems calm in this photo, it was actually blowing close to a gale! The air temperature was hovering close to freezing and the NNW wind was frequently gusting at 30-35 mph. Sea form was piling up on the windward side of the jetty and it would occasionally blow over on the protected side where I was hunkered down. This photo gives the appearance as if Neptune waved his Triton over the troubled waters and they became calm.
This is a compilation of 131 frames using Bulb Ramping and taken at 10 sec intervals using +Magic Lantern. That equates to a 22-minute exposure when it was averaged in a #StarStaX. Video of the timelapse is on YouTube: http://youtu.be/_FMS1kDfipU
Great affect and well captured.
We went there in July 2013. The only way I could get my wife to canoe it was telling her there were no alligators there!
