Whilst the picture is in the correct location the title is not correct. The valley is the Upper West Allen which eventually drains into the Tyne. The picture is taken near the hamlet of Colecleugh.

Once part of the A69 between Newcastle and Carlisle, this section has now been bypassed.

A stone circle easily visible from the road. Looks neolithic but it's modern.

Killhope Lead Mining Centre on the A689 between Nenthead and Cowshill. It features a large waterwheel which once drove machinery used to extract lead from it's ore.
