Greetings Poly, My good Friend,

Thanks for the seasonal greetings and best wishes. I shall be safe and wise in my celebrations.

I recently stood on the shoreline of a frozen Emerald Lake, surrounded by the snow covered massif and cliffs of Hallet Peak and the spires of the Dragon Tail Couloir. The cirque greeted me warmly with biting, cold wind, that carried uncountable numbers of ice crystals that stung my exposed face and eyes. I stood there quietly, face in the wind, soaking up the beauty of the mountains. I took a dram of Talisker from the flask, thanking the high country for allowing me to stand there, absorbed in the beauty of the isolation I was experiencing. I thought of all the other Panoramio photographers who had stood in this same place and similar places around the world and wished them well, you among them my old friend.

I wish you a very special holiday season to be spent in peace and joy with your family and friends. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Cheers,

Rich

I love your shot Suzi and think it has a Christmas look to it, probably the lovely white colours. I would have left a comment but I couldn't find me way out of the full size! :)
