I am an Industrial Steamfitter. My work involves installing and or repairing any of the piping used at industrial facilities, such as pulp mills, chemical plants, refineries, etc. I have taken hundreds of pictures of my work, which I use to train other workers. Most of these photos would not be of interest to the general public, so I do not post them. I am also a heavy equipment operator and a technician for Windows based computers. I am an avid amature photographer, currently using a Nikon full frame camera with several lenses. I use Adobe Photoshop CC for my editing. Most of my photos outside of work are of the great outdoors of Beautiful Britsh Columbia Canada and of my family in that setting. I have travelled some in both Canada and the United States. My wife says I am documenting our lives with my camera.

Dont even think about this *&^(&& .Nice Pix I've worked LU 628 Been up there lots. Thanx for the Pix.

Interesting Shot!.. Like....

This photo is mislocated on Google earth. It is about 4.5 kms west of its proper location - the rock cut through the hills, east of the 10 mile bridge.

You are correct that it was LAST a tailings pond. I was told by Suncor workers that it was FIRST an area that was mined, before it was used as a pond. I do not know for certain, but have heard from other sources that fomer mines are sometimes then used as ponds.

Thank you for the information. I've now titled the photo, per your description. I was not sure, as I never worked in THAT area of Suncor - just drove past it a lot. Cheers !

Very nice Voted, greetings

Wood Buffalo Park, located between Suncor and Syncrude refineries, offers about 5 kilometers of walking trails. The trails wind through small forests of trees that were planted over a filled in mine pit. Walking or biking these trails makes for a wonderful change from the teadium of the jobsite or work camp. Those of you who have been there know what I mean.
