Thanks nevadalove24,
It's gratifying when others find value in the photos that I post. The bread oven was always one of the landmarks we looked for when we would ride there. It's nice to know a little of its history. I think I have a couple more photos of it. I will look, and post them if I can find them.
This is an amazing bridge. It is so high and long. I use to drive over this bridge every time I went to Forresthill to pick up a load of lumber from the mill. The bridge points north and south and north is a 9 percent grade uphill going back to I-80 in Auburn.
There is a traffic light at the top of the hill while you are still on the 9% grade. It is called drive line hill. Many have lost a drive line or u-joint trying to get started at the top. If you are in a truck there is a device you run over that turns the light green so you don't get stuck on the hill.
It would be very difficult to get going without breaking something in your drive line if you had to stop, it is that steep. Great photos! You sure got around the state and took some awesome photos!
55K that's a heck of a lot of miles. I have a Harley I put 21K on it so far but thats since 2004. I had 3 decent bikes in my life a 71 Kawasaki H2 (Widowmaker), 78 Honda CB750 and my current sled 2004 Harley Roadster. :o) I really like your Austin Locust pics.
