This little copse is where St. Helen's chapel once stood. It was a little medieval church belonging one of the big Barnbrough families (Cressacre?). There are no remains left, it has long since vanished.

The first house on the left was where me Grandad and Grandma lived (and died).
We lived a few house up on same side. Bet they all have running hot and cold water and indoor toilets now! By eck!
You used to be able to "Bridge" up that alley, visible in the left of the photo - I remember frightening myself to death about 12 feet up there!

You see these would make great jigsaw puzzle pictures if anybody made jigsaw puzzles any more! I went through this very carefully trying to identify the boats..... sad isn't it. But it says a lot about the detail and the clarity of your work. I like this especially for its balance. Keep going.
