Courtside Cafe is on site of old Daily Reflector Building. I delivered newspapers(my bicycle) 1949(korean War)to 1951. Alvin Taylor worked with them(photographer-I think) David J. whichard was my scout master. He took our Troop to camp out in old log cabin building on Forbes Mill Run--near the Greenville Country Club.

B's Barbecue was Manning General Store in the 1940's to 1950's and later.

I went to Third Street School--1944to 1951--addition was added 1950-1951.My first grade teacher was Emily Moye Hadley.

THE SPRINGS BOTTOMS ARE A SANDY SILT MATERIAL AND DUE TO VEGETATION ALL AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE SPRING HEADS THIS REFLECTIVE BOTTOM INTENSIFIES THE COLOR OF THE AQUIFER WATER AROUND THE MOUTH AND THE TRAIL OF SPRING WATER TO ITS DESTINATION IN THE RIVER WHICH HAS MORE OF A TANNIN COLOR DUE TO VEGETATION DECOMPOSITION .

BForbes is correct about the orientation of this photo. That would have to be a sunrise. He's also right about the highrise.

There was a vioxx commercial shot at this location a few years ago. Good luck finding it.

the store you mentioned is called "R.A. Fountain" I think. Interesting place!
