E Ivey's conversations

warbs2693 - I was invited by the "Insitute of Marine Biology Far East Branch" in Vladivostock to spend six weeks aboard one of their research ships, exploring many of the Kuril Islands. I, as well as my fellow American photoaghper, were the first Americans to step foot in the Kuril Is. in over 60yrs, if not longer. I understand there are some extreme advanture groups that offer tours there now. A VERY wonderful place to visit !

Thank you for your comments. Hope you enjoyed all the pictures I post here, A little embarrased I didn't have the scientific name for this lifeform

Thank you for your wonderful comments. Hope I haven't ruined your 9 year old too much. Wouldn't sleep at night if I knew I ruined a possible future career in the fashion world.

Thanks. It was a massive rock that looked out of place. Must have been 600 to 800 feet high.

Hello E Ivey,

I am currently writing a report on the eruption of Ebeko in the summer of 2010. Your photos have scientific value in my work. Please contact me at wunderma (at) si.edu

Many thanks, Rick
