Thank you so much, Ian, for the wonderful links, esp. the Lichens of North America - an excellent reference site - I just enjoyed an overview of it and will look much more closely at an earlier time of day. I will be on the lookout for lichens everywhere now, and know that that is, in fact, what they are. Much appreciated and thanks for your nice comments as well :O)

This gorgeously stunning reflective image has been in my Favs for some time, dear Amelia - but without a comment, evidently! If you look in my Fav photos, you'll see that it should be called Mostly Amelia's Marvelous photos - and I still have a few more of your pages to view, then I can honestly say that I have seen your entire gallery, a pleasure beyond description :O)

What a lovely sight, Ian, so many - a carpet of color - not that I would tread on them! There are scenes like this in Napa County, CA, and great fields of golden mustard blossoms - if they haven't been plowed under for the planting of vineyards. Best wishes :O)
