Nada mudou...

The world famous Copacabana Palace Hotel, featured in the Hollywood classic movie, "The Road to Rio," starring Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.

She's still THE place to stay in Rio, and always will be.

The Miramar Palace Hotel on Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro.

She was constructed for the 1958 World Cup held in Rio. She was home for all United States Embassy personnel until the U.S. Embassy was moved to Brasilia. The Miramar Palace was also the favorite hotel for all Pan American pilots and flight attendants.

She's still located on the nicest stretch of Copacabana beach, within a five minute walk of Ipanema Beach and all shopping in the surrounding areas. The good life. I lived at this hotel for at least three months.

The Hotel Gloria, Rio's original Grand Hotel, built in the Gloria neighborhood of Rio before the Copacabana Palace and the Miramar Palace Hotels on Copacabana Beach.

Royalty and Albert Einstein stayed here. A beautiful historic hotel a few minutes drive from Copacabana Beach. Easy access to great shopping and downtown Rio. The interior is beautiful, and rare carved wood is EVERYWHERE.

Old world class at very affordable prices.

Clube dos Caicaras on the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas in Rio de Janeiro. A sailing and tennis club, it offers its private club members all of the amenities of a good nautical club. Located on an island. Access to the club is via a ferry boat through the covered dock shown on the far left side of the photo.
