23rd October 2007, 32 kilometers from Dos Bocas,Campeche. 23.10.07 While positioning Jackup rig Usumacinta positioned over the well KAB121 to carry out drilling work the two collided causing a blow out of one of the platforms wells and the deaths of 21 people. Well capped 15th December 54 days after the incident.
30th January 2008, the ship-barge Norsul 12, arriving from Vitoria ES at the Porto of São Fransisco do Sul (SC) with 9.010 tons of laminated steel on 340 bobbins. The barge capsized on a sand bank. There was leak of residual oil. She will be cut up and removed over the next few months.
21st October 2001 Tanker Norma grounded on an uncharted rock while leaving Paranágua. During the next week she had her cargo of Nafta transfered to another tanker and was refloated.
