The marker is placed where I took the picture, not where the ship is. According to the Panoramio Help page: "Most of the time it makes more sense to place the photo where it was taken, as that gives others the possibility of going back to that point and see the same landscape. There may be exceptions, however, and we trust you as the best judge to know where should a photo be placed."
