"Wind Tunnel" serves as a pedestrian/bike underpass gateway to the University of Colorado east campus in Boulder. Boulder gets very strong winds during "Chinook" wind storms. The patterning of the retaining walls refers to these winds. The project was designed and parts fabricated by George Peters & Melanie Walker of Airworks Studio, Inc.

With the "Flat Irons" in the background, this sculptural retaining wall was constructed to refer to the rock formations along the west side of the city of Boulder. The wall was designed by Boulder artist team, Ken Bernstien, George Peters and Melanie Walker.
