It can be very hot an very windy during the summer. We 've been twice into Syria and once to Jordan. We were near the Iroquoian border, a town named Deir a zoer. Interesting market they have and so is the France bridge. Do you know you can spend the night under it, but don't do that the night following on Friday, to noisy. At the Assad lake is also a nice possibility for camping. Those place are for free. When you are interested, I know also nice places in Jordan.
