These are very nice photographs taken along the opencast. As a schoolboy I along with others used to swim in it. The highlight of the summer holiday was to find a tin bath that we could take up there and use as a canoe. Cooking bacon and beans on the gentle sloping north side on the waters edge. Was the water cold, sheesh that took some getting used to. Fond memories. Now the forest area around the rim is a mecca for abandoned and burnt out cars. What a shame and how times change :0(
