Ritva Astikainen's conversations

Hi, dear friend, all these years Panoramio was for me unforgettable experience, bearing a lot of beauty from all over the world, many ideas for new trips and especially many new friendships! Panoramio was a wonderful community of people who appreciate the loveliness in the world around us and who is able to share it with others. I wish you from all my heart happiness, health and success, many trips, great pictures and emotions! I’m glad that we became friends and I’m sending my Facebook profile - I'll be glad if we continue to share photos and impressions! I hope we can preserve a piece of our facebook There is also our Latest Petition in, recent history is proving, that only with petitions we can't do anything, if Google doesn't want to hear anymore our voices, but we have to try! Please share this message with your contacts, any mail and any signature counts!

Very beautiful picture! L+F.*

Thank you for sharing many years , with everyone of us, so many feelings and emotions. I loved the whole community. How can you get in a small cell computer a whole world of memories and emotions which are contained in the conversation of each photo, where we were all as one and one was the all community ?

I am from November 2008 and I thought Panoramio will be eternal. My best regards to you, dear friend , you are one of my favorite photographers and I wish you all the best in world.

Hi Derek, This whole issue has been a major disappointment for me; probably my own fault for spending too much time enjoying every aspect of what made Panoramio so appealing to people like us. I can't help but feel a major resentment toward Google for their lack of respect and disregard of Panoramio's contributions to their viewers, and of course, their deep pockets. I certainly don't mind sharing my photos with the world, but I believe Google has lost all interest in retaining quality photographs. The only positive point I can see in leaving photos here is them being viewable in GE.

If you are still considering a different photo sharing site, it seems that a lot of the serious and/or professional photographers on this site have already joined Ipernity and consider it to be the best alternative; several others have joined 500px. I will most likely check out these two options in hopes of staying in touch with some mighty fine people (like you) that I've had the privilege to get to know here on Panoramio.

You will always hold a special place in my heart.....

Thank you very much, Ritva.

Greetings to all Panoramio friends.

Hello Oliver,

On all good things comes an end, regrettable also Panoramio.

I would like to invite you to take a look at the following site:

This site is free for: registration, photo sharing, photo blog, worldmap and place for reviews etc. It has a help-file, read me first file, 6 languages and tags so everybody can easy find your photo.

The intention of this site is to keep in touch with photographers all over the world and together to discuss your photo, learn from each other, maybe improve yourself but above all to show how beautiful our planet is.

Goodbye my pano-friend and I hope to see you at

Grtz Jolanda

Bogdan thank you so very much! Best wishes from Finland :) Ippa
