Dear All, You may be pleasantly surprised to know that this place was the epicenter of Chamoli earthquake of 1999 29th March as given by USGS. But there was no damage to temple.Wedid the damage surveys in Chamoli region,immediately after the earthquake, and suggested epicenter site close to Gopeshwer which is between Chamoli and Chopta. Chopta is along the road to Okhimath whereas Tungnath is on the hill.
