Here you can see how the Lewis Glacier, now in retreat, was mightier during the most recent glacial advance, having plucked the poorly consolidated material from the s. crater lip. Moved by ice and gravity, much of this stuff ended up in the high-humped terminal moraine that today cups the freezing-cold tarn. It's a snack and gather-hope spot for climbers. hi all when i was about 13 or 14 me an a few friends went camping at the dam ,we spent afew days hiking an fishing there an we had a blast. i wish i could see a picture of the lake.
