I was able to visit surfside during a trip to houston in march 2008. i've avoided looking at "during" and "after" ike pictures all this time. but today for some reason i had to see. thank you so much for posting these pictures here. as heartbreaking as they are, i appreciate them, very much.

i spent summers as a young child, oh... from 79-83 at this beach house in surfside. seems like the lady who owned it's last name was bowers? it brings back such fond family memories!!! i remember everything about the house!
