Dion was a sacred place for the Macedonian kings. They prayed to Jove at the holy city (Dion=belonging to Jove) In the old city you can see the famous Dyonisos-mosaics,a theatre and also the temple of Isis (the Egyptian godess of fertility,worshipped by the Romans)

Deze foto is al weer enkele jaren oud. Ik heb geen idee of de heremiet er nu nog zit. Wel weet ik dat hij daar op het moment van de foto al enige tijd zat. Verder zit ik met dezelfde vraag als jij! Vroeger haalden ze hun eten en drinken op door middel van een lang touw met een soort mandje en/of netje.Die monniken hadden hulp 'van beneden'! Ik vermoed dat de heremiet van nu een touwladder heeft om zelf beneden te komen.
