Best wishes from *(Eslam Khaled)*Asyut

Estimado Jorge.LIKE + FAVORITE. Eliseo

As a little girl, my mom took me along on many visits to see family and friends who were ill and stayed to recuperate. The common treat for patients was a paper bag with oranges and my mom never failed to take this treat.

I can remember well the strong disinfectant smells along the unending corridors and staircases all done in hard wood flooring. I don't think it was creaking at all.

One of my Uncles was the Gatekeeper and checked the visitors going in to see their loved ones. There was also a clipboard with all the names of the patients at the gate so visitors could check with the Gatekeeper to be sure the patient was still there; or not.

I was always impressed with the nursing staff and the Veiled Sisters. It was at this Iconic place that my dream was born: "To be just like one of those nurses" and today I'm happily living my dream.

Thanks New Amsterdam Hospital.

I would like to see this monumental and historic Icon of Berbice preserved and become a permanent piece of the landscape of New Amsterdam and embedded in the History Books of Berbice. This stunning piece of architecture just has to stay.

this is a very nice pic

Pretty big river, and still only 10 miles from downtown.

Many thanks for all comments!
