greetings from Hong Kong

The Double Ninth Festival or Chung Yeung Festival in Hong Kong, observed on the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese calendar it is a traditional Chinese holiday.

According to the I Ching, nine is the yang number; the ninth day of the ninth lunar month (or double nine) has too much yang (a traditional Chinese spiritual concept) and is thus a potentially dangerous date. Hence, the day is also called "Double Yang Festival" To protect against the danger, it is customary to climb a high mountain, drink chrysanthemum wine, and wear the zhuyu (茱萸) plant, Cornus officinalis. Also on this holiday, some Chinese also visit the graves of their ancestors to pay their respects.

Double Ninth may have originated as a day to drive away danger, but like the Chinese New Year, over time it became a day of celebration. In contemporary times it is an occasion for hiking and chrysanthemum appreciation

Plover Cove Reservior is said to be the second largest reservior in Hong Kong in terms of area and volume. In the distant is the Pat Sin Leng Mountain range.

A Symphony of Lights is a synchronised building exterior decorative light and laser multimedia display, featuring buildings on both sides of the Victoria Harbour of Hong Kong accompanied by symphonic music. The technology was developed by Australian firm Laservision and cost approximately 44 million HK dollars.

The name Pat Sin Leng literally means "Mountains of the Eight Immortals", who are famous xian ("immortals; transcendents; fairies") in Chinese Mythology, and symbolizes the eight peaks along the Pat Sin Leng mountain range, each named after a different Immortal.
