I notice that you have written at the bottom of the photograph that this church is in Dublin, Dollymount. I would have to correct you on that one. I grew up very near it and it was our familys church every Sunday. I was also married there. The church is actually in Raheny itself. I absolutely adore your photo and never expected to see it on Google Earth.
I don't know whether you are interested or already know but that church was originally the church of the family of a world well known drink. The church was part of his estate and he and he and his family are all buried in the crypt of the church. His name was Arthur Guinness.
Believe it or not my father is buried there too. The crypt under the church, part of it, has been turned into a collumbarium and people can have their ashes left there, but when you go down to the crypt you can see the coffins of Arthur Guinness and his family.
Thanks a million for filling my evening with lovely nostalgia from home. I now live in Northern Ireland but I still get homesick.
I think this is Palo Blanco´s calle Recta, Straight Street, that it isn´t true as you will remember if you drove to the end of it. Most terrific it´s when the street narrows and begings going up snaklike. Greetings from Spain, Mayte
