One of the things I learned in my brief foray into multi-exposure HDR/tonemapping is that the shadow areas often need a different color balance than the sunlight ones. This isn't bad, but it is still clearly visible that the light is different in the shadows. I never found a solution I was 100% satisfied with.

It did look like the sort of place where there would be an 'Old George' permanently welded to his seat in the corner, who would give 'furriners' dirty looks if they dared to step inside.
