Carnes, John Thomas, Family Log House ** (added 2001 - Building - #01000762) Also known as Clinton Farm Clinton Nature Preservem 8270 Ephesus Church Rd., Winston Historic Significance: Event, Architecture/Engineering Architectural Style: Other Area of Significance: Architecture, Exploration/Settlement Period of Significance: 1825-1849, 1850-1874 Owner: Local Gov't Historic Function: Agriculture/Subsistence, Domestic Historic Sub-function: Animal Facility, Single Dwelling, Storage Current Function: Recreation And Culture Current Sub-function: Outdoor Recreation If you go to visit this place you cannot park on poole road. This will be plainly marked by the Douglas County Sheriffs department. You must park at the park before poole rd and make your way to the cabin through the woods. Trails are not marked and there are no maps of the trail system. The yellow and red paint you will see on trees apparently isnt an official marking system as they backtrack each other and will serve no purpose other than to get you lost.
