This is the relief of lowest level of the Borobudur temple. The lowest level is called "Kamadhatu",Sphere of Desire. The reliefs of the lowest level(called "hidden foot") are covered with stones, but the part of the south side of the hidden foot is uncovered for visitors. "Ugly face" is the inscription above this relief, which anabled to determine in which century the temple was build.
