Hans Christian Andersen
1805 - 1875 / Biography
Hans Christian Andersen was on 2 April 1805 in Odense, the son of a Danish shoemaker born. Obsessed with the aim to become famous, he left with fourteen his parents' humble house and went alone to Copenhagen. But the thought of a career as a theater actor, he had soon from his head beat. Jonas Collin, a senior civil servant, took the nonconformist Herumtreiber in the family and instructed his son Edward, the brother forced to teach manners. Between Edvard Collin and Hans Christian Andersen has developed a kind of friendship, even if the later poets the Bankers at bay and gave him all his life that you denied. Andersen's disappointment that he not be Edvard 1836 Collins wedding was invited to be in the fairy tale "The Little Mermaid" are depressed.
1822 gave King Frederick VI. Denmark from the talented seventeen to attend the Latin school in Slagelse. One year after graduation (1828) Hans Christian Andersen was also the Philosophikum.
After humorous poems and reports on his travels through Germany, France and Italy 1835, he published the partially autobiographical novel "Toren improvisers," books by Dieter Wunderlich of the same year under the title "Youth lives and dreams of an Italian poet" in German was translated. Hans Christian Andersen also wrote plays and short stories. He was world famous for its more than one hundred and sixty tales, which he from 1835 to 1848 in eight volumes published (Andersen's fairy tales). These folk tales he worked until his literary needs of children and could be understood. At the same time he respected the fact that his romantic art spoken sound like fairy tales.
Hans Christian Andersen died on 4 August 1875 in Copenhagen.
