I believe that the unknown chapel near Penrhiwllan is in fact the church from which the village derives its name, the church at the top of a hill or Pen rhiw llan.

Hi ! In the late 1950's, my Pa, brother and I went to Aberporth and stayed in a caravan at the farm (Helyg Fach). They had a black Labrador called Grouse', and one day on the way along the cliff path, we passed a sheer drop, with no fence... the dog started over the edge (not too bright !), I caught hold of his tail and pulled him back up. The ground was loose there, and it would have been terrible if that cheerful dog had gone over. The first night was funny, we were woken by the caravan rocking, and mooing, the cows in the field were nudging the van. We had fresh unpasteurised milk from the farm, it was lovely. When we went into a local shop, the 2 ladies in there were speaking English, they saw us and immediately switched to Welsh.....gabble, gabble, gabble, "Individual fruit pie!" That became a running joke in our family ever afetr. Isn't it funny how memories can stick in your mind for so long ! That was......blimey, 50 years ago !!! The caravan was only one of a few in the farm field, with a few tents. Look at it now ! Posh mobile homes, complete with individual fruit pies, no doubt. Anyone else remember 'Grouse' the dog ? Best Wishes, 'Tobypaws'.

Looks like Panoramio's great uploader lost the title. Hadn't noticed 'til now.
