:) Моля , разкажете ми нещо за историята на тази къща? Според мен е една от най-красивите в България. Ако имате възможност пишете ми на ivelina_ter@hotmail.com
This is the Sultan's Gate to the converted church Hagia Sophia [or "Ayasofya Camii" in Turkish]. See the similarities of the canopy and roof with the drinking fountain of Ahmed III built in 1728, in front of the Topkapi Palace, Sultanahmet, Istanbul. [For brief description see Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topkap%C4%B1_Palace ]
Like the great square fountain this gate has also been built in Rococo style. The roof is formed by a central box with hipped roof with ogee surfaces, and little turrets on both sides. The ceiling is elaborately panelled.
The Troyan Monastery is the third largest monastery in Bulgaria.

"The main church of the monastery was reconstructed near the end of Ottoman rule during the Bulgarian National Revival period by a master-builder called Konstantin in 1835. The ornate interior and exterior of the church were painted between 1847 and 1849 by Zahari Zograph, a popular Bulgarian painter of the time, who also painted the central church of the Rila Monastery, the largest monastery in Bulgaria".
