Da "Die Oesterreichische Seeverwaltung: 1850 - 1875", Triest 1875: Auf der nahen Punta Sottile ward 1870 ein Leuchtthurmgebäude aufgeführt und zwischen dieser und der Punta Grossa endlich 4 Obelisken aus Mauerwerk zur Bezeichnung der gemessenen Seemeile errichtet. (Sulla vicina Punta sottile fu edificato un faro nel 1870 e tra questo e la Punta Grossa vennero poi eretti 4 obelischi in muratura per contrassegnare le miglia marine misurate).

Yes and no. Till 1919 the area of the Fusine (german Weissenfels) lakes was part of the Krain ( italian Carniola). Krain was an austrian Land corresponding approximately to the non-coastal part of current Slovenia and its population was mostly Slovene. The area around the Fusine lakes, the Kanaltal italian Val Canale) is an area where the main spoken language was german.
