The Lions’ Fountain that was donated by the German Government, was combining Europe to Jerusalem. The German artist Gernot Rumpf visited Jerusalem during his first stages of preparation, toured the site, saw many archaeological exhibitions and tried to work with the properties of the place. The site where the fountain stands was intentionally chosen to create a meeting place for the diverse populations of Jerusalem and to join the old and new cities.
